Before the Base Arrives
The project should already have:
- a prepared opening;
- suitable subfloor;
- the correct drain location;
- confirmed plumbing work;
- a defined waterproofing system;
- wall framing/backing appropriate for the shower design.
If those conditions are unresolved, base placement should wait.
Product Fit
The base dimensions, threshold location, drain position and flange geometry should match the prepared shower area.
The unit should not be cut or forced to compensate for an out-of-square opening or incorrect drain location unless the manufacturer specifically permits that adjustment.
Physical Placement
The base is positioned and supported using the method specified by the manufacturer.
Some products require a mortar bed or another support method. That support should follow the manufacturer system rather than an improvised mix of methods.
Excluded Wet-Area Work
This service does not include:
- drain relocation or connection;
- trap/waste changes;
- site-built shower pans;
- membrane design;
- waterproofing transitions;
- structural floor changes;
- leak diagnosis.
Those elements should be handled by qualified plumbing/wet-area providers.
